Require info regarding tamil school

Tue Sep 10, 2013 8:52 pm by Positivevibe

I just moved from Chennai, I am looking for admission for my 6 year old kid.
After my extensive search, understand that I can place my kid only in international school, as both of us are holding only professional visa.

Can someone suggest me, if there is any private or tamil school which will admit foreign national?

Private Tuition

Do you send your kids to private tuition after school or do you teach them yourselves? What are the pros and cons of sending kids to private tuition after school? Is it an unnecessary burden for the kids or is it seen as much needed assistance for the kids in terms of education?

A follow up to the discussion we started way back in the little india days. I found this one article dated Jan 2008 about the now famous International Irish University which i was following closely. It was quite an elaborate operation with graduation ceremonies etc.

Now the website is empty.

Private School

Tue Sep 09, 2008 11:41 pm by VJeyaa

Can someone from the education line give me some pointers about private schooling? I have been thinking about this recently as my daughter has come of enrollment age to the primary school. My current considerations are:

1. Sekolah Sri Murni
2. Sekolah Sri Chempaka
3. Convent Bukit Nenas (my personal preference)

We are also thinking of registering to a nearby Govt school, as a "just in …

Yoga can do wonders to your body.
But, as you all said, its being wrongly used by some to make money.

Its find if the instructor is fully qualified and experienced but from my observation, even Tom and Jerry are starting YOGA classes.

We should be smart to choose the right class to avoid being cheated.

i do agree with u guys on dis matter.... yoga is the meditation of the mind, soul and body and not fast way of making money. I took up yoga for a year.... it was supposed to help me conquer my soul and have peace within myself and also lose some weight. U see.... yoga nowadays has become a mode of excercise... depends on who is teaching u. If u r under a good yoga master ie the indian yoga master then he will teach u the rite techniques of breathing and postures. Every movement has its benefits to the blood circulation. And it takes time to master each move. However now we see yoga centres branching out in every corner. I attended one.... it was an hour class...for everyday. But then as a working gal i can't attend everyday.. so only 3 or 4 classes in a week for me. The class starts off with breathing technique which lasts for about 3 mins! Then movement of the body starts. Gosh.... u sweat like a pig.. good excercise....tat's about it! There r different names for different classed... ashtana yoga, hot yoga... and others i can't remember much. But the movements r all the same. Wat i am saying is.... dis is wat u get when u attend all dis lame centres which r more profit oriented in the name of yoga.

Re: Any opinion on Yoga ...

Post by tgopal on Thu Sep 04, 2008 1:28 pm

If I'm not mistaken, there is a famous Yoga Centre around Old Klang Road (Sujaa....unge area), under one Guru, meeting and practising every Tuesday, claiming that all your personal, marriage, love, health and financial problems can be solved by the Guru. The meeting is on Tuesday night every week but there is a catch. If you want to be a member, then you must pay RM750!
Anyone can clarify on this?

Re: Any opinion on Yoga ...

Nope... not exactly chello..... doing yoga does make u lose ur weight. I have experienced it myself and have seen the changes in my other frens as well. But gaining weight after stopping yoga isnt true..... cos when u learn basic moves in yoga it becomes ur daily practice... ie breathing technique which helps ur tummy. And u also learn to eat moderately. Therefore if u learn the exact techniques then u will still maintain the same weight even after not taking up yoga. Nowadays there r lots of self-help yoga videos tat u can do at home at ur own sweet time. All u need is a tv, video/cd player, a mat and comfortable stretchable clothing... and not forgetting the yoga cd!
