Private Tuition

Do you send your kids to private tuition after school or do you teach them yourselves? What are the pros and cons of sending kids to private tuition after school? Is it an unnecessary burden for the kids or is it seen as much needed assistance for the kids in terms of education?

Bogus Universities & fake degrees

A follow up to the discussion we started way back in the little india days. I found this one article dated Jan 2008 about the now famous International Irish University which i was following closely. It was quite an elaborate operation with graduation ceremonies etc.

Now the website is empty.

Private School

Tue Sep 09, 2008 11:41 pm by VJeyaa

Can someone from the education line give me some pointers about private schooling? I have been thinking about this recently as my daughter has come of enrollment age to the primary school. My current considerations are:

1. Sekolah Sri Murni
2. Sekolah Sri Chempaka
3. Convent Bukit Nenas (my personal preference)

We are also thinking of registering to a nearby Govt school, as a "just in …

NATIONWIDE TAMIL CLASSES

NATIONWIDE TAMIL CLASSES

Post by thiruselvamk on Sun Oct 03, 2010 6:39 am

We have about 500+ Tamil schools all over the country. Is it possible that we also have about 1,500 retired teachers or more at the present moment......again scattered all over the country.

If we made attempts to bring the existence of these 1,500 teachers to the awareness of our nationwide Tamil community, do you not think that we can propagate at least 500 Tamil classes in as many Tamans /Gardens / and housing schemes around the country.

When this happens, parents who want their children to learn to read /write and speak the Tamil language will find it easier. On one hand we have helped the meeting of teachers and parents and that would facilitate our children the opportunity to learn Tamil.

On the other hand we have also helped these retired teachers earn an income and help continue growth of Tamil language.

A NATIONWIDE LAUNCH of 500 TAMIL CLASSES in the homes of retired Tamil School Teachers as well as senior citizens and others who can write, read and speak Tamil, is definitely possible.

I had already got sponsors ( in 2008....... and I only hope that they are still agreeable. Otherwise have to find another)) for noticeboards (20" x 10") that will be placed on these houses that reads "TAMIL TUITION" in English, "TAMIL VAGUPPU" in Tamil and adequate space for telephone number for people to contact. (You have seen outside homes handwritten boards saying Tuition/tel no).

A directory "HOME TAMIL TEACHERS" was also planned. The above will be successful with 500 or more teachers around the country. They pay nothing. We do the publicity work.

If you do warm up to this, talk to as many people, do make a list of names of the teachers, addresses and contact numbers. Your feedback comments would be welcome. Stand by. Keep in touch with feedback here. Help revive TAMIL.
Thank you

WHY/ WHY? WHY?

Post by thiruselvamk on Fri Nov 12, 2010 11:38 am

Is it not surprising that I have had no responses. In fact I am trying to help 500 retired couples earn an income, play with children again, and keep keep that retired couples time active with fun and income. If only they teach Tamil to 10 children in the neighbourhood, they will earn Rm 300/ monthly. We do the publicity. They pay us nothing. It is a community project to help survive the Tamil language as well. Getting 500 Tamil classes started in all parts of the country is no problem. THINK and ACT or it will be too late.
